Personality:
The silly and shallow Lavender Brown of Hogwarts is almost unrecognizable as a woman of almost forty. The decades tend to do that to a person. Though Lavender can still be rather silly, and she never says no to a cute dress, the years have mellowed her. Her life stopped revolving entirely around make up and boys when she was seventeen, and although she’s forged a career on the back of her fashion prowess, Lavender knows there are more important things in life now.
The school girl Lavender can still be spotted if one knows how to look. Lavender is still quite temperamental, especially around the full moons. But Lavender was never bull-headed unnecessarily, she still knows how to admit she was wrong and apologize should the situation arise. Lavender was never one willing to shy away from the unpopular opinion, a trait that has been invaluable to her during her ascent to editor in chief of Witch Weekly. Lavender is still highly vain, and never leaves her home without her hair perfectly styled and her outfit just
right.
Lavender is a lioness through and through. The woman still bears the scars of the Battle of Hogwarts, both physically and mentally. But she’s strong, stronger than most people would have given her credit for as a teenager. Of course, those were the people who always had trouble seeing past the silly, emotional girl reading tea leaves. A hobby that Lavender still quite enjoys actually, reading those tea leaves. Lavender is less silly now, she carries herself with a professional aura that demands respect. The giddy and emotional teenage still shines through, when Lavender sees a particular nice collection of clothes, or when her babies get their Hogwarts letter... Lavender has been known to react with undignified squees and sobbing in such situations.

History: [[Okay, so, I noticed the person who plays Seamus doesn’t list any head canon for the couple. I’m just going to list some here along with some general Lav facts so you can get a better feel for my Lavender. All negotiable, of course!]]
First year: Lavender is sorted in Gryffindor and meets lifelong soul mate and best friend, Parvati Patil
Second year: Lavender has her first crush: Professor Lockhart
Third year: Lavender finally finds a course she can excel in (well, other than History of Magic, but that just comes naturally to her because history is like gossip!): Divination
Fourth year: Yule Ball, Lavender attends as friends with Seamus Finnigan
Fifth year: Lavender and Seamus start off the year on the same page regarding Harry Potter. Then, Hermione talks some sense in Lavender and she changes her mind. Lavender and Seamus row, Lavender joins the DA and refuses to talk to Seamus
Sixth year: Lavender dates Ron Weasley and that ends
terribly. Totally killed her thing for gingers
Seventh year: The worst year of Lavender’s life, and a year she still doesn’t like to talk about, except it’s also the year her and Seamus rekindled their friendship, which then blossomed into a romance
1998: During the Battle of Hogwarts, Lavender is attacked by Fenrir Greyback. She still bears some scars on her back, as well as an affinity for rare meat and a tendency to be quite moody around the full moon.
1998: On August 27th, Lavender and Seamus are married, much to the concern of most of their friends. It’s too fast, everyone said. Lavender’s parents are most disappointed with their flighty and romantic daughter
1998: Lavender interns with the Wizard Wireless Network, finds she is unsuited to radio
1999 to 2000: Still attempting to figure out her life, Lavender works at Madam Malkin’s in Diagon Alley and writes horoscopes for the Divination section of the Daily Prophet
2000: With her eye for fashion, it isn’t long before Lavender decides to branch out from horoscopes. She freelances a few articles to Witch Weekly and the Daily Prophet on the latest in magical fashion trends
2001: Lavender is hired to write a weekly column with Witch Weekly, ‘Smashing Fashion’. Daughter Brianna is born
2003: Lavender’s column is a hit, her eye for predicting trends and impeccable taste does not go unnoticed by the Witch Weekly editors. Lavender begins to travel for fashion shows, and is given more responsibility at the magazine
2004: Son, Keegan, is born
2010: Fashion editor of Witch Weekly retires and recommends Lavender for the job, the magazine makes an offer that Lavender cannot refuse
2016: After dictating what the witch on the street is wearing in any given season for six years, the editor in chief of Witch Weekly retires. Lavender is offered her job, and naturally, she accepts
Audition:
Lavender smiled politely at the kid behind the counter.
“Latte please, with skim milk. And a coffee, black” The coffee shop was a new addition to Diagon Alley, though she knew her kids would laugh at her if she told them she still thought of the coffee shop as new. A lot of things in Lavender’s life were divided into categories. New meant things that had cropped up just after the war, while old was ascribed to anything that was around before the war – and survived. So, while the coffee shop had been in Diagon Alley for more than sixteen years – it was older than Brianna – Lavender still thought of it as new. Post-war.
But it wasn’t the time to dwell on the war. It had been years ago, and Lavender had learned very quickly that it was best to leave the thoughts of war to May 2nd. One day, once a year, where she could think about the war without guilt. It was better that way, it encouraged her to move on. No, today was a very special day. The children were back at Hogwarts, which meant that for the first time in months, Lavender and Parvati could have a coffee date without the children underfoot. This was important, for Lavender wanted to discuss the kids.
Taking the coffee for Parvati, and the latte for herself, Lavender paid the tab and settled in a window seat. Parvati would be along any minute, but while she waited for her best friend, it couldn’t hurt to people watch. Lavender drew inspiration for Witch Weekly from everywhere. Though never studious or particularly into hard work as a teenager, Lavender had taken to sleeping with parchment and a quill next to her bed. Just in case a brilliant idea struck her in the middle of the night.
It wasn’t long before Parvati joined her at the table, and Lavender, smiling widely, immediately launched into what had been become a familiar conversation ever since Lavender had had a boy, and Parvati a girl.
“They were hanging around a lot over the summer. Oh, Parvati, wouldn’t it just be so romantic? Our children! Married!” The very thought made Lavender shiver with giddiness. Her and Parvati: relatives!
“They would thank us if we set them up! I just know it! Quick, we have to come up with ideas to make them date!” It wouldn’t be a Parvati and Lavender coffee date if there wasn’t any sort of scheming or meddling!
